The circle series are two large scale diptychs in conversation. As the viewer walks between the four mirrored circles they interrupt the conversation and become a part of it. The geometric patterns that run through the two opposing pieces are taken from important historical points. Circle one uses a wall pattern from the 13th century Minaret in Jam, Afghanstan. Circle two uses a 1223 floor pattern from Mustansiriyah Madrasah, Baghdad, Iraq. These two patterns have never seen eachother before as two physical places that will never meet, but through their tessolating geometry they are drawn together. Their unity is bonded by the perfectly identical opposing Circles; this actual canvas gives them a portal to look at eachother and discuss their stories.
